Salmon burgers are a delicious and healthy alternative to hamburgers and these are surprisingly easy to make either in a skillet or your air fryer. Salmon has numerous health benefits and I try to eat it at least once a week, sometimes more. It is high in omega -3 fatty acids so it helps with brain function, lowers your risk of heart disease, and improves your mood. It can also help lower your blood sugar levels so it's a diabetic friendly food. Salmon has also been know to improve your eye health and positively affect your joint condition.
These burgers are so good they will likely become one of your go-to meals plus kids really dig these! The sriracha mayo has a slight kick to it and really brings this dish to the next level.
Prep Time: 10 min
Cook Time: 10 min
1 lb. fresh or frozen salmon (skin removed)
4 tbsp. Dijon mustard
1/2 lemon, juiced
1/2 red onion, diced
1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
4 whole grain hamburger buns
1 tbsp. sriracha
4 tbsp. mayonnaise
Finely chop salmon with a sharp knife or in food processor.
Add all ingredients to a bowl and mix together with hands. Shape into patties and lay aside.
To cook in a skillet, heat over medium heat and spray with cooking oil. Cook on each side for about 4-5 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 145 degrees.
To cook in an air fryer, line basket or wire rack with parchment paper and place patties on paper. Cook according to your air fryer's fish setting, or until internal temperature reaches 145 degrees.
To make the sriracha mayo, just mix the two ingredients together. You can adjust the amount of sriracha to match your preferred level of spiciness. Spread onto buns, enjoy as topping on salmon burger, or use to dip your sweet potato fries. Enjoy!
